Mood: sleepy
Song stuck in head today: My Humps by Black Eyed Peas
We all went to Ratanga Junction today as planned. We didn't go as early as we planned though. Fortunately there weren't a lot of people. Just enough for that crowded feel but not til there were endless lines to wait for the rides. My favourite ride? Well I want to say The Cobra but that would be a bit cliched wouldn't it. I mean, everyone loves it. So I am going to say Monkey Falls. I really really love getting soaked. Hmmm.. I love The Crocodile Gorge too. We got reeeeally soaked on that one. I wanted to buy the pics at the end of it but I didn't have much money. Had to save some for my clothes that the stores kept for us. Took a lot of pictures. Gabz uploaded them but I don't know where they are on her computer. And she's fast asleep now. The reason I'm awake is because I hit the bed when we got home around 4 and only woke up at 10pm. Yup. That long. Because Gabz didn't wake me up!! Haha.. stumbled downstairs and found that Warren had come over. So we just kinda like hung out while I ate supper. He's one crazy dude. Inflicting further pain on Gabz's sunburnt shoulders. Tsk...tsk.. I really want to post more but Gabz is sleeping and I know the bright glare of the computer screen is eye-numbing. So I'll post pics tomorrow and let them do the talking!

Mood: cold!!
Song stuck in head today: the song from the movie Mama JackThe after-effects of being out late and sleeping only in the wee hours in the morning certainly took its toll on me. I woke up at 10 am. That's like later than my usual waking time.
Waaaaay later. Had breakfast (which consisted of a disastrous and pathetic attempt by me to make scrambled eggs) then we lazed around with the options of what we could do today turning over and over in our heads but amounting to no conclusion. The beach? Or the mall? Wait, what about the flea market? All these meant one thing:
money. Which I seriously didn't have due to my forgetful and useless-at-remembering-important-stuff mind causing me to forget to bring my passport yesterday when we were at Cavendish Square to change money. so the flea market was definitely out. I mean, do you know how it feels like to walk around and see endless possibilities of trinkets to purchase but
you have no money? It feels darn right horrible. I'd feel sorry for myself.
Geez nuraini, look at all the nice things you can buy. But wait, you don't have any money. That's such a pity. That feeling sucks. So the other option was the beach. But guess what? It was way too windy. Funny hey, it can be so nice and sunny outside but when the wind hits you,
brrrr.... So the beach was out too. So what's our last option?
Canal Walk!! It's practically like
my favourite one of my favourite places in Cape Town. So off we go onto the N1.
The first thing I wanted was fudge. Do you even know how good those things are? They're practically like sinful indulgence in a slice of sugary sweetness! Got a slice of
choc 'o full of nuts and then we headed down to
Kaui to grab something to eat. Something else you can't find in the small city of Singapore. The hoagie steak and the melts are the absolutely best man! And the smoothies? Ooooh.... heaven on earth!!
Next stop: shopping! after like a thousand different stores and a gazillion different clothes, Gabz and I finally decided on some clothes and we asked the stores to keep them for us first for us to buy at a later date. And I found
the perfect pair of jeans!! Such a relief. Later on we met up with Gabz's brother and his wife and we headed on down to the cinema to watch the movie
Mama Jack. It was one hilarious movie! Too bad it won't show in Singapore because it's South African. I really laughed my ass off!
"Kissing my ass.. kissing my ass.." LOL. But I must have been exhausted because I fell asleep towards the end of the movie. Or it could be because I was cold. Yeah, definitely because I was cold. However that cold was
nothing compared to the blast of freezing air that knocked me off my feet the second the doors opened and we got out of the mall.
Whooooosh!!! I had to run to the car to prevent myself from getting hypothermia or something. And we all had to squeeze in the buggy to go home. Nothing keeps you warmer than body heat! Those penguins in the Arctic are geniuses! Bloody brilliant!
Anyway, I'm tired now. It's been quite a day of shopping. Tomorrow we're going to
Ratanga Junction. We have to go early if not there'll be loooong lines to wait for the rides.
Cobra, here i come!!

Mood: tired but slightly exhilarated
Song stuck in head today: Because You Live by Jesse McCartneyNOTE: Because of the time difference, times posted will be in Cape Town (local) time of GMT +2.Wheeeeee!! I finally arrived in Cape Town today at around 9am. Cleared through immigration pretty quickly (thank you Commonwealth!) and then proceeded towards the baggage claim. While waiting for my bag to come around, I chatted with this guy called Musa, a South African. We saw each other at KLIA (he was actually sitting next to me while waiting to board the plane) and he was sitting a few rows in front of me on the plane. I thought all the while that he was 18 or 19. He was playing a PSP for godsakes! Then he told me he was like 30 years old.
No shit. He certainly didn't even look 25! But he was a nice guy. Really friendly. I gave him my email address because he asked for it, let's see if he actually emails me (haha when I told Gabz she told me to check my email straightaway).
My bag took
ages to arrive. I thought it had gotten lost or misplaced on the way to KLIA from Singapore. Imagine my huge sigh of relief when I spotted it. Cleared customs ( I don't think I actually signed the declaration form when I handed it to the officer *shrugs*), wheeled the trolley out, and gave the hugest squeal/scream/shriek whatever you want to call it. When I stepped outside the airport I couldn't actually believe I was finally home after like 2 whole years away. But the nice cool fresh air told me I was really here, and I was ready to have fun for 3 whole weeks. We then drove to
International School Of Cape Town to pick up Katia's report since it was the last day. Ahhhh.... memories!! I managed to see Miss Cameron, Miss Cilliers, Miss Gibbs ( she looked waaaaay gorgeous) and I also saw Mr Johnson! Finally around 10.30 we had to head off. But not before I took a long walk in the garden - the place where food fights were held, where Mark and Daniel ran off with our lunches, where we would try to save ourselves from their constant torture.. sigh...
We arrived at Gabz's house in the late morning, then headed off to
Cavendish Square for lunch and just to walk around the mall. I seriously missed it. We ate at
Nando's (because they didn't have that in Singapore) and I had a
Fanta Pineapple. Then we met up with Lindsay. Ohmygosh she looks so gorgeous!! Her hair looks really nice long. I thought that it was pretty good timing she was at Cavendish the same time we were because she's leaving on Sunday to go to uni. Gonna soooo miss her. Then went to Musica where I found
Hanson's Live From Albertane!!!!! Omg you can hardly get that in shops anymore. Of course being the HANSON fanatic that I am I just had to buy it. Yay! Another album to my collection.
After that, wnet back home and took a nap because we were going out at night and I didn't want to be tired when we go out. Turns out I slept for 3 whole hours! Hmm... I must have been more tired than I thought I was. When I woke up, Phillipa had arrived to go out with us. We went to a place called
Town. It was quite nice. Had something to drink (I'm not sure what kind of alcoholic drink it was) and we sat in a booth talking to Phillipa and Gabz's friends Brian and Brad. They were pretty cool guys. Then we went to play pool at another place called
Stones. Haha there was a girl who looked pretty young and wasn't allowed in. Luckily we all looked old enough even though I was the onlu U18 (Gabz, Brian and Brad were over 18). We split up into teams to play pool. I played with Brad while Gabz teamed up with Brian. I must say that I totally sucked, even if only at first. But Brad was a pretty good teacher/teammate so I learned pretty fast and I felt really elated to sink the eight ball at the end of the game. Yay me!
So anyhoo it is now 1.40 in the morning, my eyes are killing me, its freaking cold and I need sleep. Gabz is downstairs with her boyfriend Warren. Boy this is really one long post. I think it's a record!! Gosh I think the fatigue is getting to me. I hope I don't wake up late tomorrow and waste the whole day. Toodles!~
